Lenin Hydropower Plant, In the village of Lanabregas there are two low buildings of the Soviet style that are not at all related to the architecture of the surrounding area. They have remained as a memory of the former Albanian-Soviet friendship. Next to these strange buildings for an Albanian village is the small hydropower plant, built by the Soviets in 1951.
This HPP, built at the foot of the Dajti mountain, works with water flowing in free-falling pipes. At that time, it was called the “Vladimir Ilič Lenin” Hydroelectric Power Station and it supplied electricity to all of old Tirana.
