Shëngjin “Shengjin”
Shëngjin, is a small coastal town located in northwestern Albania, along the Adriatic Sea. It is situated in the Lezhë District and is approximately 100 km north of Tirana, the capital city of Albania. Shëngjin has a population of around 10,000 people and is known for its beautiful beaches, clear waters, and relaxed atmosphere. It is a popular destination for tourists, particularly during the summer months when the weather is warm and sunny. In addition to its natural beauty, Shëngjin is also home to a number of historical and cultural sites, including the ruins of the ancient city of Lissus, which dates back to the 4th century BC.
Overall, Shëngjin is a charming and picturesque town that offers visitors the chance to enjoy the beauty of the Albanian coastline while also experiencing the country’s rich history and culture.
It is located at the northern end of a large gulf 7 km from the provincial capital of Lezhë. South of the city is the lagoon area of the Drin river delta, which forms the Kuna-Vaini protected natural oasis. Here there is a port, opened in 2009, which connects the city to Bari. It is a place with a pleasant panorama and a clean sea, surrounded by not very high mountains but with a particular rock. In recent years the city has undergone a profound evolution, above all through the development of the building industry.
